The Automotive Technology program at Nashua Community College is launching a new evening and weekend schedule this fall.

“Many students today are having to work for various reasons such as paying for school, transportation, housing, tools, etcetera. By having a more flexible schedule, this allows them to work more hours,” said Professor Karl Wunderlich, head of the Industry and Transportation Department at NCC.

Professor Wunderlich said this goes for students who find work in the industry while in school, “Many students choosing the evening/Saturday schedule will now be able to work more hours in a shop or dealership gaining valuable experience while learning at school. It’s a win for both the students and the local employers.”

The increased flexibility will also offer parents and caregivers more choices in scheduling classes that work for them, he said, “Students with a family can now be able to start that career change to improve their earnings and create a better life for their families. We have students of all ages who come to us for the training but, sometimes they cannot do this because the classes have traditionally been only held during the day when they need to be working to support their family. Now they will be able to do both.”

Automotive Technology students in the degree and certificate pathway could choose the evening and Saturday schedule. Please see the Automotive freshmen evening and Saturday Schedule for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 below:
