Police Investigating Alleged Abduction Try in Nearby Wilton

Man was reported as clean shaven, 6 feet tall, driving a maroon truck.

A Wilton girl escaped an alleged abduction attempt from her own yard on Wednesday evening, according to a story in the Nashua Telegraph.

The 7-year-old girl told police a clean-shaven white man about 6 feet tall, with short brown hair and a medium build was driving a maroon mid-size older model pickup truck when stopped at the end of the driveway, got out and came after her.

The girl was able to get into the safety of her home before he reached her. The girl said he then got back in his truck, where another man she couldn't describe was waiting and they drove away.

The story had at least one Amherst mom on edge. She contacted Patch on Friday, asking for help spreading the word about the incident and the description of the man and the truck. She said the story hit a little too close to home, given Wilton's proximity to Amherst and she hoped people would be vigilant.

Wilton Police are investigating the incident and ask anyone who may have information to contact them at 654-9452 or tips@wiltonnhpd.com.
