ROAD UPDATE: Cross and Middle Street Reconstruction Begins Monday
Crews will start work on drainage at the intersection.

Here is the latest road update from Amherst DPW director Bruce Berry:
Road reconstruction for Cross Street and Middle Street (starting on Cross) will begin Monday April 1st (nope no joke). Initial construction will consist of drainage work (culvert pipe & catch basin installs) and will begin at the Courthouse Road/Cross Street intersection. This will consume most of the road and every effort will be made to accommodate daytime vehicle parking. I have already reached out to the bus company and I am sure they will be notifying you of detours.
You may recall during our information presentation, I offered interior and exterior building assessments. This added protection is at the town expense and the only inconvenience is scheduling a time that works for both you and the engineering firm. I encourage you to contact my office at the number below (extension 201 or 207) for scheduling (would like to set those up for late this week).
