Sandy Hook Tragedy Too Much To Bear

There are news stories, and there are times when an entire nation is forced to stop.

Details are still coming out in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, but the current death toll includes many adults on top of twenty children in Connecticut.

Children. Innocent children.

Every thought you are thinking is correct. This shooting is a tragedy. This is disgusting. The shooter is a monster and our hearts go out to all of those affected by this purely evil act.

There are hundreds of thoughts, but few things say at a time like this. Words are lost as we see the faces of frightened children and the image of parents who have lost everything just one day.

Parents with Christmas presents already wrapped in the closet with no one to open them. Dreams that they cannot pass down, along with memories that will never be. So many families torn apart in such a short amount of time.

My heart goes out to these people, and all of you out there who are deeply saddened and worried by today’s events. We all have people we care about and I know this hits home for you as it does for me.

Times like these make me wish there was some way to turn back time and prevent any of this from ever happening. Unfortunately there is no way to rewind this tragedy and no bright side to speak of.

The only thing I can think to do is to tell those I care about that I love them, give them the biggest hug I have in me and be thankful I can still do both. I wish you all the best as you do the same.
