Souhegan Boys Upset Goffstown, Move on to Quarter Finals

The Souhegan Boys' soccer team, seeded ninth in the pre-tournament rankings, traveled to play in Goffstown against the eighth-seeded Grizzles in the preliminary round of the Division II play-offs. The Sabers came home with a 4-2 win. Souhegan will travel to No. 1 seed Windham to play the defending league champions at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

During Thursday's first-round playoff, Devan Casey paced the Souhegan offensive attack scoring three goals. The first two of his hat trick goals came in the first half and a 2-1 lead. Jack Facey, Matt Hopfenspirger and Jasper Jones each assisted on one of the goals. Mike Hayden finished the Souhegan scoring when he completed a penalty kick goal late in the game.
