Two $1,500 Amherst Garden Club Scholarships Still Available
The deadline for Amherst and Mont Vernon students/graduates to apply is Monday, April. 1
Purpose: To encourage promising students from Amherst or Mont Vernon to study horticulture, botany, plant science, landscape design, environmental science as it relates directly to horticulture, or another related field.
Amount of Award: Two scholarships, in the amount of $1,500 each, may be awarded to qualified students.
Philosophy: The Amherst Garden Club has the opportunity to impact the future of our planet and to keep it safe and healthful, as well as beautiful. We believe we can do this by educating individuals and by encouraging them to choose environmentally conscious careers.

Qualifications:

1.Applicants must be residents of Amherst or Mont Vernon, New Hampshire.

2.Applicants must be high school seniors or high school graduates of any age (e.g., adult learners who have returned to college).
3.Applicants must matriculate to an institute of higher learning.
4.Each award recipient will be asked to give a brief written report to the scholarship committee after completion of his/her first year.

Applicants must complete the Amherst Garden Club Scholarship Application. No additional information or references are required nor will be considered. Do not include transcripts or recommendations. The award is based solely on the information contained in the application. Applications can be found on the Amherst Garden Club website.
- Applicants from Souhegan High School should submit their applications to the Student Services Office. All others should mail their application to the Amherst Garden Club, Attn: Scholarship Committee, PO Box 694, Amherst, NH 03031.
