Why You Should be Using Request-A-Quote

The Better Business Bureau has a service connecting consumers with accredited businesses.

Submitted by the BBB:

For every consumer who has felt a twinge of uncertainty at the start of the shopping process, there’s hope. For businesses searching for new sales leads, look no further. Your Better Business Bureau (BBB) offers a free service to fulfill both needs in the name of creating an ethical and trustworthy marketplace.

The BBB’s Request a Quote program is a complimentary service connecting consumers with Accredited Businesses to provide a higher level of consumer confidence. This program permits consumers to request a quote, proposal, or information from a company that meets and is committed to the BBB’s standards. By giving consumers the ability to connect with an Accredited Business with the click of a button, consumers can trust that their next project or service will be done by an honest and reliable company.

On the flip side, Accredited Businesses can rest assured that by participating in the Request a Quote program, they are generating leads from consumers that have done their due diligence in researching better businesses.

Once a consumer submits their search requirements, they are able to see a listing of all Accredited Businesses that meet their type of business and zip code specifications. After filling out a quick form detailing your budget, brief description of the project and your contact information, the request is immediately sent out to the Accredited Businesses selected, saving countless phone calls and trips to various stores.

Consumers: Not sure where to start? Begin the process by clicking on the Request a Quote button on the BBB homepage and follow these few quick and easy steps!

1. You’ll first be asked to specify the type of business you need and in which zip code the work will be completed. For example, if you need your home re-painted, try the key words “paint” and “contractor.”

2. After you input this information, you’ll see a list of businesses appear. Not familiar with one? Click on their name and you will be redirected to their Business Review in a new window.

3. Once you find a business (or two, or three) that you would like to send your request to, click on the box next to their name – a copy of your request will be sent to each business you select.

4. When you’re ready, hit “Click Here to Contact Selected Businesses” and your quote will be sent to your BBB for review and then forwarded on to your selected businesses.

For Accredited Businesses looking to participate in the Request a Quote program, please contact BBB Business relations team at business.relations@boston.bbb.org . Once active, a link will be placed on your Business Review for consumers to easily and quickly request a quote solely from your company.
