5 Things: Sloppy Monday Commute

Here's what's good (and not) in Bedford today.

1. More winter weather to impact morning commute? This weekend's heavy snow is behind us, but a mix of sleet, snow and rain is expected to impact the Monday morning commute. A winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service, is in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. The forecasted high today is 42 degrees with an 80 percent chance of precipitation.

2. Winter parking ban. Don't forget, through April 1, Bedford has a parking ban on all public highways between midnight and 8 a.m., and at any other time that a motor vehicle may impede snow removal operations. Any person violating the parking ban is subject to a penalty not to exceed $50 for each offense, and any vehicle parked in violation may be authorized to be towed by the Bedford Director of Public Works or by assigned agents and/or independent contractors engaged by the Director of Public Works or Chief of Police. Any vehicles towed will be stored and released to the owner only upon payment of the cost of towing as established by the Town Council.
