All Electronic Tolling Begins On The F.E. Everett Turnpike In Bedford Jan. 8

The AET System replaces the toll booths in Bedford next month. Work will continue in the winter and spring toward complete removal.

(New Hampshire Department of Transportation)

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will cease cash toll collection at the toll booths and begin using an All-Electronic Toll (AET) system on the F.E. Everett Turnpike (Route 3), northbound and southbound in Bedford at 10 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2026.

Work on this project will continue through the winter and spring months. Once complete, the toll booths will be entirely removed. Motorists are urged to use caution and slow down to the posted 25 mph speed limit when traveling through the toll lanes.

To avoid fees, road users are encouraged to create NH E-ZPass accounts. New Hampshire account holders with a funded account receive a 30 percent discount on passenger cars on all New Hampshire toll roads.
