Bedford Athlete And Scholarship Winner Shines On and Off the Court
Kate Allard, a BU-bound basketball star from Bedford High, is a leader in sports, academics and the school community.

Bedford High School senior Kate Allard has had a remarkable year, earning recognition as a 2024–25 NHADA/NHIAA Scholar-Athlete and signing her National Letter of Intent to play Division I basketball at Boston University.
The NHADA scholarship honors multi-sport student-athletes with strong academic records, and Kate fits that bill perfectly. A member of the National Honor Society and New Hampshire Scholar with a STEM focus, she excels as both a student and an athlete.
On the court, the 6-foot-2 forward has helped turn Bedford’s girls basketball team into one of New England’s premier programs. Kate is a three-time all-state honoree and two-time team captain who led the Bulldogs to a perfect 24-0 season and a Division I state championship in 2023–24. At the national level, she attended NCAA College Basketball Academy and Bluestar 30 camp, and played AAU with the New England Crusaders. Kate was also a standout on Bedford’s volleyball team, which went undefeated and captured three straight state titles during her high school tenure.
Kate's athleticism earned her offers from top programs like Seton Hall and Yale before she ultimately chose BU. In an article published by the university's athletics department, women's basketball head coach Melissa Graves described Kate as an "elite shot blocker" with a "versatile skill set on both sides of the ball."
Through it all, she’s remained committed to her school and community, proving that academic excellence, athletic achievement and leadership can go hand in hand.
The future is certainly looking bright in Bedford! If you know another Star Student making an impact, nominate them today to be featured on Patch!
