Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. Anderson Pereira was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison for killing Zak Charabaty, 52, of Manchester, who lived near the Bedford town line. Charabaty "went missing on March 13, 2020, but his wife never reported him missing." Investigators discovered that Charabaty's wife, Flavia Deoliveira, an illegal immigrant from Brazil, was romantically involved with Pereira and reconnected with him before the murder. At one point, Pereira got lost looking for Charabaty's house and ended up in the parking lot at Market Basket in Bedford. (Patch)
  2. A shoutout to Bedford seniors Maddox Muir, Brendan Thornton and Evan Johnston, "who were selected for the NH Legions of Hockey All Star team." The three Bedford senior hockey players were on team Red and won against team White 4-3. "Brendan had a goal and Evan closed it out in the 3rd period." (Bedford Hockey via Facebook)
  3. Spring is finally here, and the Bedford Library is preparing seeds donated to the Seed Library for gardening season. Stop by the library to lend a hand and join other gardeners to help package donated seeds. The library will have a seed-packing event on Friday, March 24, from 10:30-12:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, March 29, 1-3 p.m. Learn more and sign up here: (Bedford Public Library via Facebook)
