Nash: Budget Season In Bedford For Schools And Town
The details matter. Now is the time for input.
Budget season is underway in Bedford and now is the time to pay attention to the details.
Both the school district and the town are in the midst of their public meetings on spending priorities for next year.
While voters will get their chance to weigh in at the deliberative sessions in the spring, and to vote at the ballot on March 10, 2026, the next few weeks are where critical decisions are being made.

Considering increasing costs for personnel, health insurance premiums, and capital improvements for facilities, Bedford voters can expect both the town and the schools to be looking for more funding.
I urge everyone to get involved, review the proposed budgets, watch or attend the meetings, and give your elected representatives early, honest, and direct input.
Ideally, the schools and the town should be able to explain in clear and plain language how their budget requests - asking for money from all Bedford's taxpayers - directly benefit their mission.
Your involvement, now, when the details are being worked out, improve the chances of that happening.
