Fill a Thanksgiving Basket for a Local Family in Need

Here are five things you should know in Bedford today.

1. Give a local family something to be thankful for this year.
Color My World, a Bedford charity, is collecting Thanksgiving Baskets on Sunday, Nov. 24 and Monday, Nov. 25. Donate one this season to help a family in need. A turkey is not included in the list as they are provided by other organizations. Contact www.colormyworldkids.org or call 860-3274 with questions.

2. Get your winter sports and recreation gear now!
The Bedford, NH Parent-Teacher Group is proud to announce its highly-anticipated and wildly-popular Annual Ski & Skate Sale event has been scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Bedford High School.  This family-oriented winter fundraiser aims to support education programs for the 4400+ students attending the six Bedford public schools grades K through 12 through the sale of new and consignment winter sports equipment and apparel from top vendors and families throughout our community. Read more here.

4. So funny, it should be illegal!
Bedford High School's Theatre Company will be performing Legally Blonde the Musical.  Best described as perky, energetic and bright, with a pop score and dance numbers that will leave you feeling exhausted on the kids’ behalf, the show is an absolute hoot.  Embracing everything from jumping ropes to spoofing Riverdance, Legally Blonde takes cliche expectations and merrily dances all over them.  Its showcasing of stereotypes in an attempt to shatter them is utterly enjoyable, but there is a fair amount of mature innuendo intended for older audiences.  Most of it will fly over the heads of little ones, but as a parent, please use your discretion about how comfortable you will feel sitting next to your children.   Celebrating the always wonderful message about the importance of being yourself, Bedford High School’s performance of Legally Blonde is enormously entertaining and fun. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets to the show, which runs this weekend, are available at the door before each show or online here.

A little snow could be on the way this weekend as a cold blast moves in Sunday with a high only in the 20s during the day and down to the teens at night. Get your fireplaces and woodstoves ready!
