- A shoutout to Lauran Star, a Bedford business consultant who offered advice about mentors in a recent Golf Course Magazine.com article. Star explained that golf courses that are facing staffing shortages can benefit from having a program for employees to mentor new talent. - A Bedford man was sentenced to 120 months in prison on drug and firearms charges, said United States Attorney Jane E. Young. Warner. Michael Warner was sentenced for trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine and possession of a firearm. According to an earlier court statement, Warner, "who was wanted on a parole violation warrant," jumped from a third-floor back window at the Country Inn & Suites trying to flee from Bedford Police.
