Goffstown Man Arrested in Connection with Assault on Hillsborough County Sheriff Deputies
Cory Nickerson, 50, was arrested on Sunday and faces multiple charges, including criminal threatening, false imprisonment, and assault.

GOFFSTOWN, NH — A Goffstown man has been arrested following an investigation into an alleged assault on members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Cory Nickerson, 50, of Goffstown, was taken into custody on Sunday at around 3:00 p.m.
The arrest was a joint effort between the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and the Goffstown Police Department. To avoid any potential conflict of interest, the Goffstown Police Department led the investigation, which resulted in the issuance of arrest warrants, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff Brian Newcomb.

Nickerson faces a number of charges, including disobeying a police officer, criminal threatening, false imprisonment, two counts of simple assault, and criminal mischief.
Nickerson according to details released followed a dispatcher to the building and attempted to force his way inside, during the incident he allegedly assaulted two dispatchers.

He fled the scene, according to a radio broadcast, wearing only underwear and a hat with the words “Don’t Tread on Me”. Police, using a drone, located him getting into a vehicle. A short pursuit of the Honda Accord was terminated for safety reasons. Saturday, authorities said they had a positive ID on the suspect and were attempting to locate him.

He was ordered held on preventative detention at Hillsborough County House of Corrections. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at the 9th Circuit Court District Division in Goffstown.
Sheriff Newcomb expressed his gratitude to Goffstown Police Chief Eric Sereno and his department for their professional and thorough handling of the investigation.
