From the page:
I am trying to raise money for Lola, my Aunt and Uncle's dog. My uncle has ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, and Lola is one of the few things that still brings a smile to his face. because of ALS my uncle is unable to move and confined to a hospital bed, but Lola still visits him. When she does she lays right beside him and kisses him and comforts him. my aunt places my uncle's hands on Lola and he can feel her and she stays with him. The bond that they have transcends everything that ALS has taken from him. Even though he can no longer speak, words are not needed between him and Lola.
Recently Lola underwent a major cancer surgery, which they say was successful, however my aunt did not have the money to pay for it and I opened up a care credit for her and the surgery maxed it out.
My aunt had noticed Lola had been limping and after bringing her to the vet, she was told that Lola has a torn acl and needs another surgery. She had burst into tears at the vet office knowing that she did not have the money. Lola cannot bear any weight on her leg and is limping around on three legs.
Between the surgery that she needs to be able to walk again, and the cancer surgery that she is still trying to pay off, the cost is 3,000 dollars.
Lola is a very important part of this family, and a best friend to my uncle. She has a heart bigger then she is and I hope to be able to raise this money to make Lola whole again so she can continue giving the unconditional love and support that she does for her family without being in pain, and for my uncle who has already lost so much to know that his girl is not hurting. He loves Lola with all his heart and she gives so much to him that we want to try to give the use of her leg back to her. Anything that you can donate would be greatly appreciated. I really hope that I can make this happen quickly for her.
