Massachusetts Basketball Coach Faces Sexual Assault Charges In Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH — A Manchester man who is Lawrence Massachusetts High School Basketball coach is accused of sexual assault of a woman in Manchester.

The charges were made after a woman came forward and accused him of assaulting her when she was a high school student, police said.

On Feb. 7, Manchester police were notified by the Lawrence MA Police Department about a sexual assault that took place in Manchester. Lawrence police had been approached by SafeSport, an independent non-profit focusing on abuse prevention, education, and accountability in the sports community.

Through the investigation, police learned Jesus Moore, 34, of Manchester, had arranged for a girl to get a ride to Manchester, gave her alcohol, and sexually assaulted her at a Manchester motel, according to a report. At the time of the 2022 assault, the victim was a minor.

Moore turned himself in to Manchester police Thursday, according to spokesperson Heather Hamel.

Moore was released on $1,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Manchester District Court on March 27, 2024.
