NH Felon 'Jack The Snipper' Arrested Again

Jeffrey Gelinas, dubbed "Jack the Snipper" for cutting off college students' clothing as they slept, was accused exposing himself to a girl.

MANCHESTER, NH — A New Hampshire felon dubbed "Jack the Snipper" was arrested again Tuesday after police said he exposed himself to an 8-year-old girl. Jeffrey Gelinas, 43, was charged with indecent exposure. He was held in custody pending an arraignment.

Gelinas earned the "Jack the Snipper" nickname in 2003, when police said he broke into women's apartments near the University of New Hampshire in Durham and cut off their clothing as they slept. He has an extensive criminal history — including charges for exposing himself to girls at Barnes & Noble bookstores in Nashua and Salem in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Police said his latest arrest happened after he exposed himself to the 8-year-old girl and a man at Family Dollar in Manchester Sunday.

"The little girl stated the unknown man exposed himself while standing inside of the store," Manchester Police Lt. Brian O'Keefe said in a statement.

O'Keefe said officers identified Gelinas s the culprit based on store security camera images. Officers then tracked him down to his Union Street residence and took him into custody Tuesday afternoon.
