Now Hiring: Bedford Seeks New Town Manager

For the second time in as many years, Bedford has initiated a search for a new Town Manager.

Two weeks ago, Bedford Patch first reported that Bedford Town Manager Jessie Levine, 15-months into her tenure in town, would be stepping down from her post to take a job as Sullivan County Manager and return to her previous hometown of Springfield.

Monday, Bedford officials posted the job opening on the town website. It reads as follows:

Bedford (pop 21,500), seeks progressive, proactive, entrepreneurial, professional with proven record of leadership and management to serve as the next Town Manager.  Located in south central NH, adjacent to Manchester, 60 minutes to Boston’s, 40 minutes to seacoast, hour to White Mountains.

Sophisticated, engaged community with history of political and management stability boasting exceptional public services, top rated school system, and unsurpassed quality of life.  Works under seven member Town Council, oversees budget of $24M, workforce of 130.

Successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high integrity, and ability to promote and maintain organizational excellence and exceptional community service. 10 years relevant senior management experience and BA/BS required. MPA or related advanced degree strongly preferred.  Highly competitive compensation offered commensurate with qualifications.  Residency required within 18 months of employment.  FLSA exempt position.  EEO.
