Police Investigating A Man With A Life-Threatening Gunshot Wound

Manchester cops responded to a Blaine Street ShotSpotter activation and found casings. A short time later, an injured man arrived at CMC.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police detectives worked at the scene throughout the morning where a shooting on Blaine Street occurred early Thursday morning.

Evidence markers were located in several areas inside an expansive area of crime scene tape. Some of the evidence markers were placed over what appeared to be blood and pieces of flesh, and others appeared to indicate locations of ballistic evidence. At about 1:30 a.m., police received a ShotSpotter activation that sent notification cruisers and dispatch of potential gunfire in the area of Blaine and Cleveland streets. Police arrived and discovered shell casings on the sidewalk near 183 Blaine St.

Shortly after arriving on Blaine Street, police were notified of a man who arrived by private vehicle and was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The man had life-threatening injuries, and police believe the two incidents are connected, according to MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel.

“Witnesses on scene were uncooperative and gave limited information,” according to Hamel.

The area that had been closed off to residents and traffic reopened at about 10 a.m., and detectives remained in the area, going door to door and speaking to people in the area. Several buildings in the area have video cameras in the area where the shooting happened.
