Police Search For Suspect After Death Near Manchester High School

MANCHESTER, NH — A 46-year-old man died from blunt force trauma during an attack on Thursday on Lowell Street outside of Domino's Pizza.

An autopsy was completed Friday and determined that Te-Jay Thomas died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck. Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg classified the manner of death as homicide.

Manchester police, fire, and AMR ambulance responded to Lowell Street near Maple Street for a report of an assault and an unresponsive man near the edge of the street. Witnesses told police Thomas and another man were arguing near Domino’s. While arguing, witnesses reported that the man knocked Thomas down and assaulted him on the sidewalk. As witnesses called 911, the suspect walked away. He returned briefly before leaving again.

Manchester police detectives worked throughout the evening processing the scene. During the investigation, police identified a suspect — Akim Alleyne, 33, of Manchester, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is wanted on a single count of manslaughter-reckless. Alleyne is a felon who is currently on probation for a burglary that occurred in June.

A previous booking photo of Alleyne and a still image from yesterday were released by police and are posted here. Police searched several locations in the city on Thursday evening and Friday, and at this time are asking for assistance in locating Alleyne.
