Here are the top stories in Bedford today:
- Snowmobilers were happy when more than a foot of snow fell in New Hampshire this weekend, but unexpected accidents can happen. On Saturday, Frederick Pihl Jr., 61, of Bedford, was riding with a group of friends in Rumney when his snowmobile veered off the trail at a curve, hitting a tree. His friends and passing snowmobilers helped Pihl at the crash scene until New Hampshire Fish and Game officers arrived. Conservation officers said Pihl had "serious but non-life-threatening injuries." (Patch)
- Bedford drug dealer Brian Rutherford, 25, pleaded guilty to "conspiring to traffic fentanyl from Massachusetts to New Hampshire between 2018 and 2019." Officials said Rutherford "told a friend and family members" to testify falsely at his trial and/or to provide false statements to investigators. Rutherford pleaded guilty to charges of "conspiracy to sell fentanyl, five counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and six counts of witness tampering." (WMUR Manchester)
- Would you like to preserve the history of Bedford? Apply to serve on the Bedford Historic District Commission.
