- A proposed New Hampshire tax reform bill would create education "donor towns" under the Statewide Education Property Tax. The bill proposed by Rep. Richard Ames, D-Jaffre, would "addresses concerns" about the current tax that allows some wealthier communities to "retain a portion of the property tax," while others do not. When committee chair Rep. Laurie Sanborn, R-Bedford, asked if voting on the bill should wait until the lawsuit is settled, Ames said he would like to see the tax reform legislation move forward. - The Bedford Fire Department's Squad 1 is now in service! You may see this new emergency vehicle respond to "a variety of emergency calls," from carbon monoxide alarms and elevator rescues to technical rescues to being an additional resource for ambulances on medical calls. Squad 1 is "a 2022 mini-pumper on a Ford F-550 chassis that has a 300 gallon water tank with a 1,250 GPM pump." The technical features sound impressive!
