Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. The Target store in Bedford was evacuated Tuesday around 10 a.m. for 45 minutes, after receiving a bomb threat. Store managers "immediately contacted the Bedford Police Department" and safely evacuated customers and employees. Bedford police officers, state police and the New Hampshire State Bomb Squad arrived with specially trained explosive K-9s and, thankfully, did not find any explosive devices. The threat was determined to be a hoax, similar to others New Hampshire retailers have received. Police are investigating. (Patch)
  2. The stakes are high for Bedford in the NHIAA Division I Girls Basketball Tournament—also called the Bishop Guertin Invitational. The competition kicks off Tuesday night, weather permitting. The Bedford girls' team is hoping to topple BG, the "reigning champ" after winning "five of the last six titles." Bedford is the only team to upset the Cardinals' winning streak by taking the 2021 title. Cheer for Bedford Tuesday night! (Eagle-Tribune)
  3. Have you seen this car? The Bedford Police department is asking for the public’s help "to identify the vehicle and male individual pictured in connection with being at Memorial Elementary School on February 18, 2023, between 1 - 2:30 p.m. with two juveniles who took a hammer and smashed a window at the school and a raised flower box."
