Three Manchester Police Officers Fatally Shot Manchester Man After Pursuit: Follow-Up
Nickenley Turenne, 24, died from multiple gunshot wounds after an incident on South Mammoth Road Saturday morning.
MANCHESTER, NH — A Manchester man has been identified as the person fatally shot by police Saturday morning.
At approximately 4:43 a.m. on Saturday, officers from the Manchester Police Department responded to the area of South Mammoth Road, near the Green Acres Elementary School in Manchester, for a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, the police found a male occupant asleep in the driver’s seat and a female occupant asleep in the passenger seat. When awoken, the male driver fled at high speed, and the police pursued the vehicle until it crashed into the yard of a residence on South Mammoth Road.

A foot pursuit with the man driver followed, and in a subsequent encounter with police in the area of 293 South Mammoth Road, three Manchester police officers fired their duty pistols at the man, who was shot multiple times.
Life-saving measures were attempted, and the male was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was homicide. Homicide, as used by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, is defined as the killing of one person by another.
The man who died has been identified as Nickenley Turenne, 24, of Manchester.
The scene was immediately secured after the shooting, and the NH Attorney General’s Office and New Hampshire State Police Major Crime began their investigation.
On Saturday, investigators could be seen documenting the scene, including examining a vehicle the suspect was driving. The Honda crashed into a fenced-in yard in the rear of a house, and had Massachusetts commercial plates. The vehicle was eventually towed from the scene. South Mammoth Road was closed throughout the day as investigators conducted the initial investigation.
Manchester police wear body cameras, and all videos of the incident will be included in the investigation. All officers involved in the incident, including the ones who fired their weapons, are currently on paid administrative leave, according to police. No officers were physically injured in the incident.
The investigation by the New Hampshire Department of Justice and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit into the exact circumstances surrounding this incident remains active and ongoing. The identity of the officers who used deadly force will not be disclosed until formal interviews take place.
According to the Attorney General, additional information will be released as it becomes available and when appropriate to maintain the integrity of the investigation.
