Vehicle Crashes Into A Manchester Gas Station Narrowly Missing Worker

The woman driving the car refused medical treatment, and the worker was not physically injured. The impact caused significant damage.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Fire, police and AMR were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that drove into a Mobil gas station on Hanover Street Saturday.

Responders arrived at 1079 Hanover St. at about 2:40 p.m. and found the building had significant damage and the vehicle was partially inside. Firefighters worked to check the stability of the building and shut the electricity off in the area where the damage was occurring.

An elderly woman driving the vehicle was evaluated by AMR personnel and refused medical treatment.

The worker inside the store was behind the counter, which was struck by the vehicle. Merchandise was sent flying. The vehicle also pushed several coolers, which were damaged by the impact. A man working inside was visibly shaken but had no physical injuries.

The woman driving the vehicle said her foot got stuck, and the vehicle accelerated, and she could not stop it.

A tow truck removed the vehicle, and the accident is under investigation by Manchester police.
