Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- Bedford's TF Moran engineering is a key player in an ambitious $21.5 million development on the picturesque land of the former Laconia State School. A Manchester developer entered into a purchase and sales agreement with the state after a 3-2 executive council vote. Development plans include a housing complex, hotel and conference center, and retail space. Laconia Mayor Andrew Hosmer and state commissioner Charlie Arlinghaus said they are "pleased with progress on the development," but the project will need "adequate water and sewer for as many as 1,900 units." - School is canceled today, Tuesday, due to local elections. For teachers, it's a "Teacher Workshop Day," said the Superintendent & Schedule Adjuster in a recent post. Moving the voting date to March 28 did not change the last day of school, "which is June 14," he added. Voting will be from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. in the Bedford High School gym. (Parent Square)
