Goldner: We Must Fix The Great Societal Divide
Identifying what is really going on in our society

As a physician I was trained to observe symptoms to make a diagnosis of the disease. Trump is not the disease; he is a symptom. So are all the other changes and irregularities in our society.
Many social scientists, historians and scientists predicted what is going on
now, 20 years ago. In 1997, William Strauss and Neil Howe wrote in “The Fourth Turning…” – “Sometime before the year 2025, America will pass through a great gate in history, commensurate with the American Revolution, Civil War, and twin emergencies of the Great
Depression and World War II. The risk of catastrophe will be very high. The
nation could erupt into insurrection or civil violence, crack up geographically, or succumb to authoritarian rule.”
Maldistribution of wealth, increasing poverty, wage stagnation, elites’ and companies’ greed for more wealth and power. Elites compete for first place i.e. biggest yacht, first into space. Much of the
country is miserable without enough funds to pay for necessities. Drug addiction, suicide, etc., this nation is not working for 60 percent of the population. Democrats have abandoned the working poor and impoverished and have no concise platform. Republicans have worked to reverse hard earned societal benefits, personal freedoms and rights and to impose their beliefs on others.
We now have a disintegration and collapse of our society.
It may take decades and violence to create a new order that will not be as before. All who are willing to compromise to rebuild and to heal the wounds must confront their errors and state their objectives for all Americans. We believe in livable wages, universal health care, public education, safety for all, affordable housing, helping the disabled, ill and unemployed to integrate into society, free speech, personal freedoms just to start.
