Police are asking for help from the public as part of an investigation into an incident that occurred in a Belmont business.

BELMONT, NH — Belmont police provided limited details on an incident they are investigating.
They are asking for help from the public in identifying a woman shown in a surveillance image provided. The image appears to show a woman facing a man in a restaurant or bar.
Police refer to the request for identifying the woman as a “subject of an ongoing investigation.”

According to the victim, the woman was upset because he was wearing a conservative political T-shirt and “actually tried to strangle me.” Two good Samaritans reportedly pulled the woman away from the victim.
