
Author speaks on Everyone’s Trash
Wilmot, NH – Duncan Watson, a seasoned waste management professional and lifelong storyteller, invites readers to discover the hidden world of recycling and refuse in his award-winning book, Everyone’s Trash. With over 33 years in the City of Keene’s solid waste program, Watson’s journey from childhood recycling attendant to a leader in the field reflects his lifelong commitment to community and sustainability.
Everyone’s Trash won the “wildcard” category at the 2024 New England Book Festival, and won a 2025 biennial New Hampshire Literary Award for outstanding work of nonfiction from the New Hampshire Writers Project.
Watson will share his vision for the future of waste management during an author presentation at Wilmot Public Library on Saturday, January 17th at 1 p.m. The talk is co-sponsored by the Wilmot Waste Reduction Advisory Committee. Copies of the book will be available beforehand.
An Inspiring Call to Action
Through book signings and speaking engagements, Watson is challenging communities to rethink waste, showing that achieving an 80% diversion rate from landfills is not only possible but can be accomplished without increasing costs.
