Concord Fatal Hit-And-Run Victim Identified; Police Still Seeking Tips Connected About The Crash

CONCORD, NH — Concord police have released the identity of a woman killed on Loudon Road on Friday night after a hit-and-run crash.

Elisabeth Benoit, a member of the city’s homeless community, was struck by a car near Alton Woods Drive around 7:15 p.m. She was taken to Concord Hospital later, where she later died. Benoit was 43.

A Good Samaritan stopped to assist Benoit while a witness also called in information to police. Investigators spent Friday night and Saturday morning canvassing Loudon Road for video security footage that might lead to a suspect vehicle.

Benoit, according to a story published about two and a half years ago in the Concord Monitor, and members of her family had been bouncing around shelters, camping locations, and other places, such as Northwood, after being evicted from an apartment on Storrs Street in 2023.

Concord police are still actively investigating the incident, according to Lt. Thomas Yerkes of the Concord Police Department. Investigators are asking to speak to anyone who was in the area of the Irving gas station at 231 Loudon Road between 7 and 7:20 p.m. on Friday. Also, anyone with surveillance footage in the area were asked to contact police.
