Concord Firefighters Extinguish Burning Camper At Homeless Camp Off Integra Drive: Video
Firefighters were sent to the camps after black smoke from a burning 30-foot camper was seen from Hall Street on Tuesday afternoon.
CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams extinguished a camper fire at a homeless camp off Integra Drive on Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch began receiving calls about smoke seen in the Concord Heights and Integra Drive. After the initial call was sent out to firefighters, a Bradford firefighter heard the tone and reported to dispatch they were on Hall Street and could see “a very large column of heavy black smoke coming from that area,” according to scanner chatter.
The dispatcher thanked the Bradford firefighter for reporting the smoke.

Another firefighter, also hearing the call, said the fire was “into the woods, quite a way, on the access road … maybe a camp.”
Dispatch then summoned more firefighters, including a forestry unit, to the area.

Just past 2 p.m., the first firefighters arrived at the scene and entered the vacant property. A second set of firefighters said they were going to the area of Garvins Falls Road and see if the fire was closer to that area. However, later, the first arriving firefighters found a camper burning at the parcel and suggested it would be easier to come into the area from Integra — although they admitted it was “well into the woods,” and that brush was on fire, too.
The forestry unit stretched a line while other firefighters tapped into a nearby hydrant. Firefighters confirmed it was a 30-foot travel trailer, and it was “well-involved.”
At about 2:15 p.m., a commander reported there was water on the fire and the bulk of the fire was put out within 10 minutes.
No one was found inside the camper or the burn area.
A fire prevention officer was also requested to the scene.
