Concord Firefighters Extinguish South End Scooter Fire
Firefighters were dispatched to Thompson Street in the South End to extinguish burning lithium batteries in a scooter on Sunday afternoon.
CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams extinguished a scooter that was on fire in the South End on Sunday afternoon.
Just after 5:15 p.m. Capital Region Fire Dispatch received reports about an electric scooter that was smoking on Thompson Street. According to the caller, the scooter was being worked on inside a home when it started popping and smoking, so they took it outside, away from the building.
“We’re off with the scooter,” a firefighter said, requesting a battalion commander, “it is on fire.”

The fire was extinguished while others were called to investigate around 5:30 p.m., and it was determined that the lithium batteries caused the fire.
The brand of scooter was a 1Plus E-Scooter.
