Concord Special Election After Shurtleff, St. Hilaire Departures
Concord voters choose replacements for City Councilors Steve Shurtleff and Daniel St. Hilaire.

CONCORD, NH — Concord voters will choose replacements for two longtime city leaders during a special election in March. Former City Councilors Steve Shurtleff and Daniel St. Hilaire resigned last year after accepting new positions. Shurtleff was named House Speaker and St. Hilaire was appointed a Superior Court Judge.
Shurtleff was an at-large councilor and St. Hilaire was a Ward 10 councilor. Voters will elect their replacements during the special election, set for March 5. The replacements will serve out terms that expire Dec. 31.
The filing period for candidates runs through Jan. 18.

These are the candidates who have filed for the at-large seat as of Monday:
- David Sky
- Michael Dobrinski
- Byron Champlin
- David Parker

The polls will be open March 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the city's 10 voting wards.

- Ward 2: West Congregational Church, 499 North State Street
- Ward 3: Beaver Meadow Golf Course Club House, 1 Beaver Meadow Street (off of Sewalls Falls Road)
- Ward 4: Boys & Girls Club of Greater Concord, 55 Bradley Street
- Ward 5: Green Street Community Center, 39 Green Street
- Ward 6: St. John's Activity Center (St. John's Church), Thorndike Street Entrance
- Ward 7: West Street Ward House, 41 West Street
- Ward 8: Bektash Temple, 189 Pembroke Road
- Ward 9: Havenwood, 33 Christian Avenue
- Ward 10: Broken Ground School, Portsmouth Street
