Concord Veteran, Cancer Survivor 'The Only Father' Stepdaughter Knows

CONCORD, NH— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Concord, meet Seth O'Donnell.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

What makes your dad extra special?

He may be my stepfather, but he's taught me to never give up and to always fight. From serving in the Army to surviving cancer and having many operations, he was up working through it all and he does construction and excavation. While stepping up to be the father figure the last 18 years he's the only father I've known and people who know him are lucky because he's a hard worker that gives his all. He's definitely a hero and inspiration that no matter what you go through, nothing will bring you down if you have a strong mindset.

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

I feel he deserves the spotlight because he took the job of another man and taught me the roots of working and having a strong mindset. With being sick, he never let it show. While being on chemo he was out working, traveled the United States and conquered his goals in life.
