Heroin Charge For Concord Woman At Shopping Plaza: Police

Police in Manchester said Melissa Clancy was found "slumped over the wheel of her vehicle" with heroin.

MANCHESTER, NH — A Concord woman was arrested over the weekend after police said she was found "slumped over the wheel of her vehicle" with a heroin-filled needle. Melissa Clancy, 27, was charged with drug possession. She was arrested Sunday morning in Manchester at a South Willow Street shopping plaza.

"(An officer) attempted to wake and identify the women," Manchester Police Lieutenant Brian O'Keefe said in a statement. "The officer observed a spoon, lighter and a half filled, uncapped hypodermic needle on her lap when she opened the door to render medical aid. Clancy awoke as soon as the officer opened the door and then reached for the heroin filled needle."

The needle and a bag of heroin weighing about 1 gram were seized, O'Keefe said.
