Driver Strikes Utility Pole, Bus Stop Sign On Pleasant Street In Concord

Video: New Hampshire State Police are investigating a crash outside the Pleasant View Retirement Center. One person was taken into custody.

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating a crash on Pleasant Street on Monday night.

Just before 8 p.m., Concord police dispatch received a report about a single-vehicle crash near Presidential Oaks. According to the police dispatcher, state police received a complaint about a vehicle with the same registration as the one involved in the crash. A man was reportedly walking around, outside the SUV.

Concord fire and rescue teams were also sent to the scene.

Officers confirmed there were several state troopers at the crash while firefighters corrected the address, stating it was Pleasant View Retirement, located a few blocks away.

Firefighters cleared the scene at just past 8:15 p.m., saying the patient would not be taken to the hospital. A fire commander notified dispatch that both Unitil and Consolidated needed to come to the scene. The pole and a conduit were reportedly damaged, the commander said.

A Concord police officer told dispatch state police had taken one person into custody and they were clearing the scene. The officer also said the driver also struck a Capital Area Transit bus sign and was on the ground.
