Hooksett Police Investigating Bomb Threat At Southern New Hampshire University

An email Friday afternoon reported a pipe bomb was in the Edward Wolak Library building. The building was evacuated, but no bomb was found.

HOOKSETT, NH — Police in Hooksett are investigating a bomb threat on Friday afternoon, which was later determined not to be credible.

Around 3 p.m., police were notified of a bomb threat on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University in the Edward S. Wolak Library, formerly known as the Shapiro Library. The building, Sgt. Mike Zappala of the Hooksett Police Department said, was evacuated by campus safety and officers. A K-9 unit from the Manchester Police Department’s explosive detection unit, along with campus safety and officers, swept the building but found nothing.

“The threat was determined to not be credible and once the building was cleared, students and staff were allowed back inside,” he said. “Further investigation will follow in an attempt to identify the origin of the email.”
