Icy, Slippery Roads During Evening Commute Expected In Concord, Northern NH Wednesday Night: Weather Alert
Breaking: The National Weather Service issued winter and hazardous weather alerts on Wednesday, warning of up to 2 inches of ice and snow.

CONCORD, NH — Weather forecasters are warning commuters and others that streets and highways across the Capital Region, Lakes Region, and North Country this afternoon and evening will be slippery and icy.
The National Weather Service posted a winter weather advisory at 11:37 a.m. and a hazardous weather outlook at 12:50 p.m., warning residents in Belknap, Merrimack, and Strafford counties about snow, ice, and road conditions.
Anywhere from a glaze of ice to 2 inches of ice and snow is expected.

“Light snowfall accumulations are expected as periods of snow showers impact the region,” the alert stated. “Be prepared for variable travel conditions and slow down when you approach areas of heavier snowfall, as road conditions could change rapidly.”

Difficult travel conditions are possible due to icy road conditions, one alert stated. The hazardous conditions could also impact the Wednesday evening commute.
“This is especially true on untreated side roads,” the alert stated. “Even light snowfall amounts can accumulate on roads and cause dangerous driving conditions due to snow-covered roads.”
Concord High School also canceled its afternoon and evening activities, as well as all sports activities, including an away wrestling match with Bow and Pelham in the southern part of the state, where there are no active alerts.
