Katherine (Kay) Anne Gagnon (Sager) Of Meredith

Gagnon died July 25, 2023, at Concord Hospital. She spent most of her career at the New Hampshire Insurance Department and loved to cook.

CONCORD, NH — Katherine (Kay) Anne Gagnon (Sager), 79, of Meredith, died peacefully July 25, 2023, at Concord Hospital in Concord with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 11, 1944, in Port Jefferson, New York, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Tasch) Sager.

Kay received her high school diploma from Coe Brown Academy in Northwood and later earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Franklin Pierce College. She went on to work for a number of employers over the years. However, she spent the majority of her career at the New Hampshire Insurance Department, which she enjoyed tremendously, working with many great people throughout her time with the department.

Kay’s favorite thing to do was spend time with family, specifically being able to cook for loved ones and friends. For those that knew her, you better be ready to eat when you visited because she would always cook more than enough food as anyone was always welcome at her table. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting different casinos for fun and entertainment.

Kay is survived by her significant other, Chester Pomeroy of Meredith, her son Thomas Barnes and fiancée Michelle Belanger of Riverview, Florida, and Laconia, her grandsons Mitchell Barnes and significant other, Jen Boyd, of Westfield, Massachusetts, and Brian Barnes and significant other, Haley Roberts of Holyoke, MA, and her granddaughter Trisha Cleary and her husband Kalen of Concord. She is also survived by siblings Henry Sager and wife Daisy of Concord, Clara Danis of Manchester, and Virginia Chappell of Cary, North Carolina, as well as nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Gary Barnes.

No formal services will be held at this time. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org) in lieu of flowers.
