Man Dies On Snowmobile Trail In After Possible Medical Incident
CPR was performed on the 64-year-old man by coworkers on the trail in Pittsburg after the rental sled tipped over while making a turn.

PITTSBURG, NH — New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to a snowmobile accident in the area of Diamond Ridge, which left a 64-year-old man dead.
Rescue personnel were alerted to a call involving a snowmobiler who was not breathing Friday at 1:47 p.m.. The call came in via a text message to 911 and a personal locator beacon activation, with the location simply being GPS coordinates. Rescuers from the Pittsburg Fire Department, 45th Parallel EMS, and New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officers all responded to the scene on snowmobiles upon receiving the call.
Conservation officers said, "An investigation into this tragic event is ongoing."

Authorities did learn that the victim had come to Pittsburg earlier in the day with a group of coworkers. The group had rented snowmobiles from a local business and gone for an afternoon ride.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., the victim was seen tipping his snowmobile on its side after difficulty navigating a turn at a slow speed. Several riding companions came to his aid within seconds but immediately found him unresponsive.

Investigators believe that the victim likely suffered from a medical emergency at the time of the incident and are working with the medical examiner’s office in furtherance of the investigation.
New Hampshire Fish and Game has identified the victim as Mark Lamothe, 64, of Freedom, New Hampshire.
Conservation officers thanked the many professionals, volunteers, and members of the public who did all they could to help the victim in his time of need.
