Shot in diverse locations in New Hampshire, including Kimball-Jenkins Estate in Concord, and the Madame Sherri Forrest in Chesterfield, as well as the Coggeshall Farm Museum in Rhode Island, The Second Life is a big step for independent filmmaking in NH. With a 10-people crew, and a cast of 17 members, the production team was able to pull off a period piece replete with strong performances and polished artistry. Featuring familiar faces from past Manguetown films, such as Craig Capone and Michael A. Coppola, the movie will also debut Spencer Creaghan’s original soundtrack, performed by the Ostrich Orchestra from Argentina, conducted by Ariel Contreras-Esquivel, featuring solos by Daniel Schlombs and Kishan Chouhan.

“The first day of any film shoot can be unnerving because everybody is getting to know each other and their individual styles as artists, as well as people. In the hours preceding everyday of shooting I had, Pedro prepared a playlist of classical pieces and movie scores that echoed throughout the magnificent and arguably haunted Mansion.” - William Galatis (Actor) on working in “The Second Life”

The story is based on a tale from the 1800s, written by the Brazilian reputable writer and poet Machado de Assis. It speaks about one of the most complex of human emotions: FEAR. The fear that comes from the unknown, and the fear that comes from knowing everything. The story is told in the style of films from the Golden Era of Hollywood. Theatrical cinematography and directing, as well as a powerful yet melodically smooth original score, The Second Life will make you experience Joseph Maria’s past without a time machine, only with some popcorn and a big screen.

“The Second Life is a beautiful story and I can't wait to share this with you all. Pedro and the rest of the cast and crew all brought something unique to the table and I'm so happy to have worked with them all.” - Jonathan Olson (Director of Photography)

The movie is set to premiere at Red River Theatres on Monday, May 1st, at 5:30PM. It'll be a one-night only event. Tickets can be purchased for $5 here.
