New Hampshire Fugitive, With ‘Violent Tendencies,’ Missing For 8 Years, Corrections Department Says
Paul James Poisson has not been seen since August 2017 after a prison sentence on second-degree assault and stolen property charges.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help in finding a fugitive who has not been seen for more than eight years.
Paul James Poisson is 41, white, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighs around 220 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Poisson does not have any known aliases, but he does have several tattoos, including a skull on his right shoulder, the numbers “202” on his chest, the name “ALI” and the numbers “1-27-2008” on his left hand, and the name “Audrina Grace” on his left forearm.
Poisson was convicted of second-degree assault and receiving stolen property in Sullivan County Superior Court in November 2013. He was sentenced to two to five years in prison and granted parole in April 2016.

The parole board, however, issued a warrant for his arrest in August 2017, on use of illicit substances and absconding from supervision charges, corrections said in an alert which also included warnings that Poisson had “violent tendencies" and was an “escape risk.”
Poisson has not been seen for eight years.

“Poisson’s criminal record consists of but is not limited to second-degree assault, receiving stolen property, theft by unauthorized taking, shoplifting, controlled drug-acts prohibited, breach of bail and violations of probation,” an alert stated.

According to superior court records, Poisson’s criminal history dates back more than two decades, after he was accused of conspiracy, and escape and contraband charges in Laconia in September 2003. The escape charge was nolle prossed in June 2004. After being charged on a capias warrant, he was brought up on a probation violation in 2005. Another warrant was filed in 2006.
In June 2011, Poisson was accused of theft in Newport. He pleaded guilty to the two charges in February 2012 and received a 12-month sentence and a three-and-a-half-to-seven-year sentence, served consecutively. Poisson was also given five years probation and required to pay $743.14 in restitution. He violated probation or parole and was sentenced to a pair of two-to-five-year prison sentences, with 41 days of time served. Poisson’s sentence was amended in March 2015.
