New Hampshire State Police Investigating Wrong-Way Driver Interstate 93 Offramp Crash In Concord

A teenager from Bow and a pickup truck driver from Barrington were taken to Concord Hospital after a wrong-way driver crash at Exit 13.

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating how and why a teen driver drove up an Interstate 93 offramp in the wrong direction on Thursday.

Just after noon, New Hampshire State Police were sent to a report of a wrong-way driver on the Exit 13 offramp. About a minute later, state police dispatch said people were reporting a crash on the highway just past the ramp with entrapment and injuries.

“Can you start fire and grab me another unit?,” a trooper asked.

A Concord fire commander confirmed there was heavy damage to both vehicles, a Hyundai sedan and a Chevrolet pickup truck. Later, they requested trauma alert status at Concord Hospital due to a head injury.

Due to the highway being shut down, EMTs had to drive in reverse up the Exit 13 ramp to get to the scene.

A third ambulance was requested at 12:15 p.m.

Two tow trucks were requested to the scene to remove the vehicles.

State police said the Hyundai was being driven the wrong way by Liana Fox, 18, of Bow. The pickup truck driver was identified as William Marie, 57, of Barrington. Fox, according to a report, was driving north in the southbound lane and veered into the high-speed lane, colliding with the truck Marie was driving. It took firefighters 15 minutes to free Fox from the car, the report said.

Both were taken to Concord Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
