New Hampshire State Senator Jeff Woodburn, a key Democrat, was charged with hitting and biting a woman.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Senate Minority Leader was arrested Thursday and charged with domestic violence. Senator Jeff Woodburn (pictured) is a Democrat from Dalton and he represents the North Country. He was accused of assaulting a woman on two occasions last year. In one instance, he bit the woman's hand; in another, her threw a cup of water at her face, according to New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald.

Politicians on both sides of the aisle called for Woodburn to resign Thursday.
