Manchester Man Charged In Brookline Shooting That Set Off Manhunt
Robert Gagnon was accused of shooting man on Townsend Hill Road; cops say fatal shooting of elderly Lyndeborough man under investigation.
BROOKLINE, NH — Authorities have confirmed the arrest of Robert Gagnon, 45, of Manchester in connection to the shooting of a man in Brookline on Wednesday.
Fire, Police, and EMS responded to Route 13 and Townsend Hill Road at about 6:30 a.m. in Brookline for a shooting report. Upon arriving, officers encountered Carlos Quintong, 44, unresponsive, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Quintong was transported to the hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Gagnon was arrested and charged with one count of attempted murder. He was accused of purposefully shooting Quintong with a firearm, constituting a substantial step toward the commission of the crime, Michael Garrity, of the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, said. He was expected to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua, however, a date has not been confirmed at this time.

Police responded to a second shooting at 774 Center Road in Lyndeborough at about 9:21 a.m. Wednesday.
Upon entering the home, they discovered Robert Press, 83, deceased. At this time, the investigation into his death is ongoing. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday.

Several law enforcement agencies assisted in this investigation, including the Lyndeborough, Milford, Greenfield, Peterborough, Wilton, and Nashua police departments, as well as the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
