The Town of Bow, NH is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Land Use Assistant in the Community Development Department. The Land Use Assistant performs a variety of administrative and technical tasks in support of the Community Development Department with a primary focus on Planning and Zoning. One of the major responsibilities of this position is providing high-quality customer service at the Community Development counter, on the phone, and when responding to emails. Duties include processing and reviewing applications, preparing meeting notices and packets, drafting correspondence such as staff reports and Notices of Decision, attending and taking minutes at evening meetings, and responding to inquiries from the public. The Land Use Assistant provides support to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment. The role involves managing and updating the web pages for these boards and commissions, as well as for the Department.

Qualified applicants should possess a high school degree or equivalent, with associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, and three years progressive, responsible experience in Community Development/Planning; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Salary range $25.25 to $30.77 per hour DOQ.
