Van Crashes Into Trees And Bursts Into Flames On 293 In Manchester
A man was pulled from a van with serious injuries and given medical aid by a trooper and bystanders. Fire crews quickly put out the van fire
MANCHESTER, NH - New Hampshire State Police, Manchester Fire, and AMR ambulance responded to 293 Southbound at mile marker 9.2 about 2 miles below the I-93 junction, Thursday for a report of a vehicle in the woods that was on fire.
A state trooper who was traveling home was one of the first people to arrive at the scene. The driver who was the only occupant in the van was quickly removed from the area of the burning vehicle and medical aid was provided.
Fire and EMS crews and additional troopers arrived just before 3 p.m. closed the right lane of travel and extinguished the fire in the vehicle.

The man who was pulled from the van had serious and apparent life-threatening injuries according to initial assessments at the scene. A trauma alert was activated at the Elliot Hospital and the victim was quickly transported from the scene.
State police are investigating the accident, initial investigation shows the van was the only vehicle involved. All aspects of the investigation are still being handled by state police.

The right travel lane and breakdown lane were closed for over one hour. The New Hampshire Department of Transportation provided assistance at the scene by alerting travelers and urging them to move over.
