• Society for Protection of NH Forests Celebrates Grants as LCHIP Marks 25th Anniversary (indepthnh.org) — A new state grant to expand Powder Major’s Forest in Madbury will help protect the Oyster River, the primary drinking water source for Durham and UNH. The project, backed by LCHIP and drinking water trust funds, will conserve key stream buffers and wildlife habitat, with a public fundraising campaign planned for 2026 to close the remaining funding gap.
