Avesta Housing will host a grand opening event on May 6.

EXETER, NH - Avesta Housing will host a grand opening celebration of its recently developed property, One Meeting Place, in Exeter at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016, according to a press statement.

Guests will be able to tour the building and see several apartments, as well as hear from local and regional leaders on the importance of developing affordable housing for New Hampshire residents.

Avesta Housing, a nonprofit organization, acquired Four Meeting Place and Six Meeting Place and developed One Meeting Place in 2015. The Meeting Place development has 97 affordable one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. One Meeting Place has 39 units of non-age-restricted affordable housing. In addition, Meeting Place residents benefit from Avesta Housing’s service-enriched housing through the assignment of a resident service coordinator.

One Meeting Place has "notable environmentally-conscious design features such as energy-producing photovoltaic solar panels on the roof, an energy-efficient mini-split heating and cooling system, and a well-insulated building envelope," according to the developer. The solar panels will generate more than 180,000 kWh of energy annually.

One Meeting Place was designed by Burnell Johnson Architects of Manchester and built by Cheshire Builders of Swanzey.
